The pennant of South Holland can be called one of the brightest pennants in the Netherlands. The bright yellow and red shine towards you as soon as you hoist the pennant. Not only is this pennant one of the brightest colored provincial flags in our country, it is also one of the youngest. Only since January 1, 1986 this flag has been used as the official pennant of South Holland. 

Even before 1986, the colors yellow and red were already used in the pennant of South Holland: from 1948 on, they used a yellow pennant with a simple red stripe. The desire to attach more symbolic value to the pennant led to the pennant changing in the XNUMXs: the current copy now features a lion from the coat of arms of Holland.
