The Overijssel pennant

The pennant of Overijssel is a beautiful tricolor that will not look out of place on any flagpole. This pennant has been the official banner of this eastern province since 1948. Just like the coat of arms of Overijssel, this pennant bears the colors red, yellow and blue. 

In the pennant, a central role is reserved for the river IJssel, which actually only grazes the province on the western side. The river is symbolized in the pennant by a blue squiggly line running horizontally across the center of the pennant. We also find two red and two yellow areas in this pennant; these colors symbolize the ties between Overijssel and Holland.
