You measure your head size by measuring the circumference of your head with a textile centimeter. The textile centimeter then runs a finger thickness above the ears and eyebrows.
The measured number of centimeters is then the measure. So measured 57 cm = size 57.

Please note that most headgear has a tendency to shrink (heat from your head causes shrinkage), so it's better to be too big than too small.
